Smallville is confusing me so much right now. I liked Arrow more than I liked the previous episodes this season but it’s very different to me. I mean this season just feels off. My Thursday night viewing love is still there, it’s just that all the characters are in such different places that the Smallville show I used to watch is gone.

Now that’s not a bad thing. People have been complaining about the redundancy of past episodes and show’s characters must build and grow. But what they’re doing now isn’t as compelling as before???? I don’t know; it feels very dull. Like all these new actors (that I love by the way) are interrupting my show.

This is probably the babbliest way of saying that Clark is no longer the main story of Smallville. That either TW peed in the writers’ drinking water making them hate him, or Clark Kent isn’t someone they know how to write for. Not that I know how to write anything either but the show is called Smallville. Simply because he’s not with the golden calf does not give them the right to side step over him.

LOVE that Lex is turning into the bad ass that he should be. Love the fact that he has Lionel’s cards in his hand. The Luthor battle always has that tug and taunt to it. Love that he’s not Mr. Googilly Eyes and that he has upped the Destroy Aliens idea.

LOVE Clark’s ethics and morals coming into play. That we’re seeing him process what his borders are. That last scene in Arrow was very well done. I wished these ideas came a little sooner but maybe this will have Clark not be so reactive but more proactive. And the Music The BUM BUAM BADAUM!!! Will always give me a little glee!

The romantic aspects have always bugged me. Clark pining away for 5 seasons was enough thank you glad he’s moving on. But Lex gets the saddle now and again I find it boring. I can’t take Lana seriously.

Oliver Queen and Lois are awesome together, because it’s very much a future parallel to Lois and Clark/Superman (from what I saw in Arrow). They don’t bug me when they’re plot B. Clark for these past few eps. has been getting a plot B slot in his own show and that’s what’s off.

Season six really just brings the pretty people out to play and that’s why ladies and gents, they have me on this couch. It's relax time on Thursday's and Smallville will always entertain.

I agree with what you are saying. Now that Smallville has progressed these characters, it no longer feels like the familiar show I love. I'm still here and will watch it week after week, but there must be a law against NOT having Tom Welling in enough scenes in the first half hour OF HIS OWN SHOW! The man is too good, too pretty, and too interesting to be relegated to the B story.

It was strange to only have one scene with Clark in the first half which made me lose interest in the first viewing. Watching it again with more of my attention to it, I liked it more. But as a GREAT Metropolis show, I still miss my Smallville episode.

I was going to say exactly what Rumpuso and you have so wonderfully expressed. I can't understand how and why in Smallville, a show that's about him, we have Tom/Clark in just ONE scene in Act one. I understand they want to introduce the GA character, but they've been introducing him for three episodes already, with a fourth coming up, and he should be just a secondary character in SV. If TPTB love the GA and his gadgets so much, they should make a pilot about him and keep SV as it should be: a show that focuses on Clark Kent and his journey. This season they are making Tom a guest star in his own show and it's really getting annoying and disappointing to me.

I will always be Smallville's puppy, but I want my TW bone (that really sounds more pervy than I intended)!

Ollie/JH is a great new idea and motivational push for Clark but he shouldn't be the main superhero here. I might me completely overreacting because it just one ep, but I don't want Clark pushed to the side for this guy.

And all these romantic parings are killing me here! Less Soap-y more super plot writers...but then agian I do live for fanfic : p

I agree Clark wasn't in the show enough, but for whatever reason its what they are chosing to do right now, and for the first time instead of yelling at my tv :where the F**K is Clark" I just relaxed and tried to be patient, and when he came, he brought it. I wouldn't call his storyline the B storyline at all, Arrow is definitely helping to shape Clark, and that was clearly evident in the final loft scene, and I love how calm and confident he was. The show does feel different, and I think that we still have some adjustments to make, I'm slowly getting used to it, but every season has felt different, because that wonderful thing about SV is that they aren't afraid to let their characters grow and change, which is risky, but I admire that. After Reunion, and clearly setting up Lex and Clark against each other, the show seems to be going to shif focus back to Clark, with all thats happened these last few eps under his belt. So I'm willing to be patient and see where this is all going.

Yeah on my second viewing I paid more attention to the second half and Clark was there. It was good, meaty, SuperPloty stuff, but with all this romantic paring fluff in the beginning (especially last weeks ep)I lost interest early.

The loft scene was perfect and showed Clark facing his issues. It left me seeing Clark thinking about more than his close circle. Ollie will definitely be a plus to SV. But I want more of that and less of this romance pairing shuffle. Where every pairing is at what stage of there relationships isn't wow factor.

But I do see that this is all setup (or hoping that it is) for a big shift in SV. They've all changed as characters and after five years that's how it should be. Definitely admirable.

I'm probably being very shallow and just want more Pretty TW on my screen as much as possible. : )
